Terms of use

Effective November 4, 2026. What changed: a flyer's owner can take it down from under it (Flyers); before that, the Friends section. Using chirave.com means you accept these terms.

What Chi Rave is

A free listing of dance-music events in the Chicago area, gathered from promoters' public posts and from events people submit. We aren't the organiser of any event, and we aren't connected to the promoters, venues, artists or ticket sellers listed, or to Instagram, Meta or Discogs, unless we say so.

Check before you go

Event details are read from public posts by an AI model and reviewed by a person, but they can be wrong, and events change. Times marked “TBA” weren't given. The original post is linked under Sources on every event: check it, and the promoter's own channels, before you go. Chi Rave is provided as it is, without any guarantee that a listing is accurate or complete, and isn't responsible for an event, a venue, or a promoter's decisions.

Ages

We show the age limits the promoter posted. Following them is up to you and the event. To make an account you must be 18 or older, and you confirm that when you sign up; we refuse the sign-up otherwise and keep nothing from it on our side. Chi Rave isn't for children under 13.

Submitting an event

When you submit, you confirm that it's a public post or a flyer you're allowed to share, and you let Chi Rave show it on the site, with the event details read from it. Don't submit:

• a private address or anyone's personal information that wasn't posted publicly,
• anything that isn't a real dance-music event,
• anything offering or advertising drugs, or anything else illegal,
• someone else's work against their wishes.

We may decline or remove any submission.

Your account

An account is optional. One account per person, and it's for you alone: don't share the code we email you with anyone, and don't make accounts for other people. A passkey is optional; the emailed code always works. Choose a username and a display name that don't pretend to be an artist, venue, crew or person you aren't, and that contain no slurs or abuse. We may change a name that breaks this, or suspend the account. You're responsible for what's done with your account.

Friends

Friends is a way to see which nights the people you chose are going to, and nothing more: there's no messaging. Everyone is private by default, and what you share is your choice, item by item. Don't use Friends to harass anyone, to follow someone who doesn't want you to, or to work out where a person will be against their wishes; don't ask for an invite from someone you don't know. Anyone can remove a friend, block a person or report one from their page, and we act on reports.

Suspension and deletion

We may suspend an account for abuse of the site or of other people, for impersonation, or for repeatedly submitting others' work against their rights, and we'll say why if you ask. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; a suspended account is deleted when you ask privacy@chirave.com. Deletion removes everything in it at once, from every device, and it leaves our backups within six months; our email provider's copy of the mail we sent you is gone after 45 days. The only things kept are the text of problem reports you sent, with your account removed from them, and your old username on a 90-day hold so nobody can take it to pass as you.

Flyers

Flyers shown on Chi Rave are credited to the account that posted them and link to the original post. If you'd rather your flyers weren't shown, tell us and we'll show a link instead. If a flyer is yours, “Is this your flyer? Remove it” under it on the event page takes it down at once, without an email; the night's other details stay listed. Use it only for a flyer you made or hold the rights to: a person reviews every removal and may put a flyer back.

Take-downs and copyright

If you're a promoter, venue or artist and want a post, flyer or event taken down or corrected, or you believe something here infringes your copyright, email privacy@chirave.com with the page's address and what you'd like changed. We act on valid requests promptly.

Our designated agent for notices of claimed copyright infringement under the DMCA:

Someone who repeatedly submits others' work against their rights can't submit any more.

Using the site

Don't try to break, overload or scrape it, get into the admin pages, or get into anyone else's account.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of Illinois.
